Simbu’s Love Anthem bags bronze award from YouTube

Actor Simbu’s latest vide album Love Anthem has managed to win YouTube’s bronze award for the number of hits/downloads it has recorded in recent times. The song has apparently been made by Simbu in order to match contemporary star Dhanush’s highly successful and hugely popular song Why this Kolaveri di from his yet-to-be released film 3.
Dhanush’s song, sung and penned by him, went on to get as many as 3 crore hits on YouTube in the form of listening and downloading. The song even breached the linguistic barriers as it became a huge hit in other States as well on non-Tamil television channels where it is regularly played out to meet popular demand.
In order to match Dhanush in terms of garnering popularity through a single song, Simbu though of a novel idea and searched the dictionary in detail to find out words meaning ‘love’ in different languages in the country and the rest of the world. He sung the song and got Sony Music to popularize the same through Youtube. PRO Nikhil Murugan did a great job in assisting Simbu in promoting the song.
As the hits crossed the one-million mark, YouTube has announced a bronze award for the song. It may be recalled that the Kolaveri…. song received the gold-star award from YouTube for the record number of hits it received. Awards apart, it was indeed ironical that Simbu had referred himself as ‘Superstar Simbu’ in the press hand-outs he issued to announce to the press about bagging the bronze honour.
