Flashback 2011: Top actors

Here goes the list on alphabetical order…

Suriya: There is no doubt that Suriya one of the best performers in Kollywood today. This year the actor teamed up with ace director A.R. Murugadoss for the 7 Aum Arivu, which had a never-seen-before concept in Tamil.
Film: 7 Aum Arivu
Ajith: One film and 130 crores, that’s Thala! After a not-so-good run in Aegan and Asal, Ajith came back strongly with Venkat Prabhu’sMankatha. Not many heroes will dare to play a grey shaded cop at this point of his career. And the rest was history and Mankatha went on to become the biggest blockbuster of this year.

Dhanush: Kolaveri rage, global recognition and National award, there is no doubt that 2011 was the best year in Dhanush career so far. Well, who can forget K.P. Karuppu and “I am love you” dialogues from the intense Aadukalam?

Jiiva: He is one actor who is still flying high, Reason? The stylish Ko! Jiiva has four release this year out of which Ko went on to become 2011′s first blockbuster.

STR: Surprisingly for Simbu this was the year of remakes! Both his films, Vaanam and Osthe, were remakes of Vedam (Telugu) and Dabangg (Hindi) respectively.

Vijay: The comeback year of Ilayathalapathy! His first release Kaavalan gave his a new lease of life and then came the racy Velayudham, a treat for his fans.

Vikram: Yet another great year for Vikram! A poetical tale of the love between a father and his five year old daughter on celluloid — that is the best way to describe Vikram’s Deiva Thiirumagal directed by Vijay. Ever since the release of the film, appreciation has been pouring in from all corners.

Vishal: When we all thought that Vishal is the perfect contender for action film, he surprised us with his excellent acting skills in Bala’s Avan Ivan. After all it is not easy to appear with a squint eyed throughout the film.
